#23 Cover Art by Francesco Francavilla
When I drew this cover, I didn’t know it was gonna be the last one (the series is closing with issue #23, which is out this week): in a premonition-like state of mind, now it seems that Barnabas’ hand coming out from the coffin is almost a goodbye hand before disappearing into the coffin.
Gonna miss this title and doing covers for it: I was the cover artist since issue 1 and this (along with Lone Ranger and The Shadow) is one of my longest run as cover artist on the same title.

I had to leave the Dark Agnes interiors due to other book commitments, but my dear friend Paul Tobin is still on board with part 2. Luckily I was able to contribute the cover for this issue (out today in all stores) :)

Doctor Who is not the only one celebrating a 50th anniversary this year.
Created by writers Arnold Drake (who was the feature’s regular scripter) and Bob Haney, artist Bruno Premiani, and editor Murray Boltinoff, the first Doom Patrol story appeared in My Greatest Adventure #80 fifty years ago (June 1963).
Tune in tomorrow for more DOOM PATROL celebrations.
